Hanningfield Princess Leia - "Ruby"
Hanningfield Princess Leia

Ruby pictured with Jan

Ruby is owned by our friends Jan and Graham and is another member of the Grangewaters Working Newfoundlands group. Ruby has had a lot of success in the show ring with many wins and high placings at Championship shows, including being awarded four Reserve CCs and crowning her show career with the Bitch CC at Manchester in January 2011 under breed specialist judge Susan Benyon.

Apart from her excellent show successes, Ruby is proving to be another super water working Newfoundland - she was the winner of the Advanced Trials at Ragley in 2009 and in 2010 succeeded in passing her first Section E Water Test, a feat achieved by very few Newfoundlands in the UK.

"Ruby earns her Diploma in Water Work"

On 05 May 2012, three days after her tenth birthday, Ruby (Hanningfield Princess Leia) passed the Section E Water Test at Lakeside, Doncaster. A single pass at this top level is superb as there are very few dogs in the UK that have acheieved an E pass but this was the fourth time she has passed Section E! Because it was her third pass at different venues involving four or more judges she qualifies to receive the Newfoundland Clubs' Diploma for Water Work. The Diploma is the highest accolade awarded to a Working Newfoundland and we believe that there have only ever been half a dozen Diplomas awarded in the UK.

In 2011, Ruby was named as the Top Veteran Working Dog, Top Water Working Dog and Top Working Dog overall by the Southern Newfoundland Club, a feat she went on to repeat retaining all three of those titles in 2012!

We are immensely proud to have bred Ruby and delighted for her owners Graham and Jan Hill who have done an amazing job in training her.

A top water worker

Ruby achieved multiple passes in Section E water tests (the highest level in the UK) and qualified for a Diploma in Water Work which is awarded jointly by the UK's three Newfoundland Clubs. Huge congratulations to Jan and Graham on this very special achievement.
